Geocache Description:

Located in one of the back streets of Winchester city centre. Parking is for permit holders only from 08:00 to 18:00 Monday to Saturday. Please be respectfull to the local residents.

The Time At The Bar series will take you around the centre of Winchester to visit some of the gone and forgotten public houses that ceased trading long ago. There will hopefully be 8 caches when the series is complete The caches can all be done on a pleasant walk in one day in good weather or on their own. If you would like to learn a little more about Winchesters forgotten history, have a go at GC1279A which is a mystry cache created by Juggles. There were 5 pubs in this street. The cache is near what was The Perseverance (now no. 87) and closed in 1956 The other pubs in the street were: The White Horse closed 1974 The Sprtsmans Arms closed 1911 The Albert closed 1903 The Rose And Crown closed 1905 You are looking for a magnetic nano, unfortunately there really isn't any other choice of container of hide here. The difficulty is manly due to the bad GPS signal.
