The Stallion Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

LavaLizard: As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Geocache Description:

Short walk from parking area along fairly level terrain.

As several other Tehachapi communities, the community of Stallion Springs was once a cattle ranch. The Rex Ellsworth Ranch was sold in 1969 and was made into a subdivision. Chanac Creek, named after Francois Chanac, an early pioneer, drains Cummngs Valley into the San Joaquin Valley and is dammed just next to the covered bridge, thus forming the lake.

I chose the name because the community is called Stallion Springs and I love horses. So, I just called the cache The Stallion. I put the cache in Stallion Springs because it is a beautitful place and you are right next to a lake at Horsethief Park. Have fun with the cache!
