After spending a week in Grand Cayman a couple of years ago I still have the love for the island, so I decided to bring a little bit of it back with me that am why I am doing the Tortuga Cayman Island Rum Cake Series
.
The name, Tortuga, chosen by Robbie & Carlene Hamatys the founder of the rum company, was derived from the original name given to the Cayman Islands, Las Tortugas meaning "The Turtles"
.
You cannot visit the Caribbean with out seeing one of these famous cakes sitting on a shelf somewhere. It turns out that these cakes seem to be one of the most popular souvenirs for people. And have been featured on many national syndicated shows.
This cache is located in Wilderness Park in Coon Rapids; this park is an undeveloped area in the city.
