Crooked Pound Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

martlakes: After the logs we came and checked this tonight, it's definitely gone again.
Think we will have to give up with this as there's not a really good hide available here.
Thanks to all who visited, sorry to those who missed it.

Geocache Description:

In the small village of Crook is an old historical feature dating back to times before lots of fenced fields.  There is also a pleasant 'watering hole' nearby!  An easy drive-by on the B5284 from Bowness to Kendal.  The road goes through Crook, a small linear village with a pub and village hall.

You're looking for the Pound or Pinfold just west of the pub.  It was restored in 1992 and has a Millennium monument within.  There's a mossy bench, and a source of water in the corner for those held within.  If you don't know about Pinfolds or Pounds, follow the GPS and a handy sign on the gate will tell you all about them.

Parking right next to it by the Sun Inn and phone box.  Kneeling down would help.  Please be gentle with the surroundings and re-hide well - don't drop it!
