Sorkku eli Sorakuopan mäki.
Sorakuopan mäessä moni rovaniemeläinen mäkikotka on aloittanut uransa. Sorkku oli 35 metrin mäki. Sorkun mäessä ovat hypänneet mm. Ylianttilat, Käyhkö, Törmänen, Ylipullit ym.
Sorkun tarina päättyi vuonna 1987, kun se purettiin Ranuantien tietöiden alta. Hyppyrimäestä on vielä jäljellä joitakin betonirakenteita mäen päällä. Nykyään Sorkku on suosittu pulkkamäki.

Sorkku (that is how the hill is called beside the gravel pit)
On that hill beside this gravel pit many ski jumpers born in Rovaniemi have started their careers. This hill called Sorkku used to be 35 meters high. World famous ski jumpers such as the brothers Ylianttila or Ylipulli, Tauno Käyhkö or the Olympic gold medalist Jouko Törmänen among others have had their first jumps on that hill.
The tale of Sorkku came to its end in 1987 when it was pulled down because of the road work. But we can still see some concrete elements left from that jumping hill. Today Sorkku is a popular children's slide.
