O cele serii, proc vznikla a co obsahuje

Vyrobky mistnich zelezaren kdysi putovaly do cele tehdejsi Evropy.
Metalurgie zeleza zde trvala nepretrzite od poloviny 14. do konce 19. stoleti.

Soucasti teto serie je jeste tato keska.

O Ransku z hlediska historie hutnictvi

Prvni zminky o zalozeni hamru na zpracovani zeleza v katastru obce Ransko pochazeji z roku 1393. V roce 1623 zakoupil polenske panstvi, ke kteremu nalezela i obec Ransko, rod Dietrichstejnu. A prave Ferdinand, knize z Dietrichstejna, nechal roku 1669 postavit prvni drevouhelnou vysokou pec na zeleznou rudu. Stala pod hrazi Ranskeho rybnika, drive zvaneho Dlouhy.

S rozmachem tezby zeleznych rud byly v letech 1837 a 1847 postaveny dalsi dve vysoke pece vcetne podpurnych dilen a provozu.

Proslavily se svymi litinovymi vyrobky - zejmena kamny a take krasnymi litinovymi krizi. Techto krizu najdete v okoli velmi mnoho.

a roku 1875 vysoke pece uplne vyhasly.

Vyrobni program podniku zahrnuje vyrobky z grafickych slitin, slitin medi a hliniku, vcetne tepelneho zpracovani popripade obrabeni pomoci CNC stroju.

"Iron"
history of Vysocina

Stare Ransko

About the series, why it emerged and what it contains?

A term „Vysocina (Highlands)“, to most of us, stands for a beautiful, maybe a bit harsh, nature. Then, we may start thinking of great variety of things depending on what each of us has ever come accross here.  Nontheless the past and the history always equally applies to all of us.
That of Vysocina is most of all linked with the metallurgy and iron production. Products of local ironworks were being sold all over the Europe. The history of metallurgy lasted unremittingly from the half of 14th century till the end of 19th century.

About Ransko from the metallurgy point of view

The very first records on theRansko’s iron mills date back to 1393.  In 1623, the Dietrichstejns bought the Polen’s manor which Ransko was part of. Ferdinand of Dietrichstejn built the first charcoal iron ore blast furnace.  It was located down the embarkment of the Ransky pond. The iron ore was being mined in several local iron ore mines nearby a place called „Ranska hora“. The furnace produced one „bun“ of iron a day weighing 250 – 300kg.

Due to the lack of natural recources – especially the wood, the charcoal was made from – the furnace had to be shut down in years 1756 – 1760. The iron industry was thus entirely brought to a halt for almost 40 years.

At the end of the 19th centry the industrial boom wrung the resumption of the production again.

At the end of the 19th centry the industrial boom wrung the resumption of the production again. This made it possible for a brand new blast furnace to be built in 1811 followed by the erection of the forging shops and cupola furnaces in 1813. As the iron ore mining grew rapidly, another two blast furnaces were built in 1837 and 1847 including supporting refining shops and plants.

By the amount of production, the Ransko‘s iron works together with the ones in Polnicka ranked third within the largest iron producers in Czechia and Moravia.

As the manufacturer of great variety of cast and forged products, the iron works in Ransko (and Polnicka) were awarded a Gold medal on the industrial exhibition in Vienna in 1845.

The Ranske iron works were selling their products in Brno, Olomouc but also in Vienna, Linz and Saltzburk. They were famous for their cas-iron products such as stoves and beautiful magnificent crucifixes. There are a lot of them around one of which you can see at the picture and which will call at on your way to the final. It has just recently been pronounced a National cultural monument.

Since the 2nd half of 19th century, the lack of wood and water together with a total absence of mineral resources (coal) caused a tremendous slowdown in the iron production which was finaly stopped completely in 1875 by shutting down the blast furnaces.

As a reminder of the old times, nowadays, there is only a foundry shop in Nove Ransko (1949) having emerged from a former factory founded by Jan Pujaman in 1885. The factory went through the ownership of Agrostroj up to when it became a part of Choteborske strojirny in 1989. The product range comprises products made of grey iron, copper and aluminium alloys involving heat treatment of castings and CNC machining.

Task:
There are two follow-up stairways leading towards the monument. Number of steps of the one closer to the monument = "B"

Stage #3: CRUCIFIX - N49° 41.235, E015° 50.252

Here, the crucifix was first built in 1832, but is no longer here as It was pulled up by one of the customers of the local inn in a revenge to the inn's owner who had ran him out of his inn the other day. He than later confessed to having done so, in a letter, after he had left the country for America. Task:
Number of rows of the inscription is your number " C " .

There is an old crucifix standing on the bank of the Ranecky pond. It was placed here as a reminder of a reign of Frantisek 1st. an Austrian emperor. The erection was financed by a duke of Dietrichtein, arranged by the mill authotities and solemnly consecrated on September 13, 1933. You can verify these dates for yourself on the pedestal of the crucifix.

Task:
How many years had the reign been lasting for by that time?. This will be your " D "

FINAL CO-ORDINATES:
