Geocache Description:

This ruins are the establishment Kemigawa wireless transmission station in 1926.

Kemigawa wireless transmission station had the first call sign J1AA in Japan, and the first international broadcasting in Japan was done here. Moreover, this wireless station is known by having sent the second standard frequency transmission in the world in 1940. (call sign JJY)

To our regret, this wireless station was abolished in 1979.
However, there are people who are doing the preservation activity as a symbol that brings our country the progress of the wireless telecommunications technology

 ここは1926年に開設された検見川無線送信所の跡地です。

 検見川送信所は、日本第一号のコールサインJ1AAを持つ無線送信所であり、日本で始めて国際放送を行いました。また1940年に世界で二番目の標準電波局(JJY)としての運用も開始した無線局としても知られています。

 残念ながら1979年に廃局となりましたが、無線通信技術の進展をわが国にもたらした象徴として保存活動が行われています。
