Date: June 13th, 2009
Start Time: 10am-11am (cache coordinates & rules will be handed
out during this time)
Finish Time: 3pm (poker hands will be counted, prizes given to
winners)
Location: Madison Grove Park
This event will be a POKER RUN
There will be 5 new caches hidden for this event. Each of the 5
will contain cards (in sealed envelopes) for caching teams to find.
There will also be 4 "bonus caches" to find. Each one of these
bonus caches will contain a WILDCARD for the FTF. Theses bonus
caches will be a little more difficult to find than the regular 5.
Best poker hand at the end of the day wins. There will be prizes
for the winners (coins, tbs, etc)
There are enough cards to accomidate 20 poker hands. So we ask
that if you cache as a group you take 1 enevlope/card per group so
everyone has a chance. Of course everyone can log their finds and
individual cachers.
The caches will be spread out over the Bakersfield area, so you
will need a vehicle to find them all. At least one of the caches
will require some internet research to find, so if are from outside
of the area you may want to bring a laptop (then drive to Starbucks
for to use their free internet). Coordinates to all the caches will
be handed out at the start of the event and will be published on
geocaching.com that afternoon. There will be plenty of time given
(5 hours) to find all the caches and get lunch, so noone needs to
rush around town, THIS IS NOT A RACE! It should be a nice, fun,
relaxing day of caching in hot hot Bakersfield.
We hope to make this an annual event, please join us to make the
first one the best!
