This is one of five stand-alone caches located on Washburn County
Forest Land near Whale Lake.
If you look at an atlas, it's hard to see why they call this Whale
Lake. However, pull out a topo map and you will see it. While
looking for a place to stash our cache, we came across a skeleton
(deer) hanging in a tree. Some hunters must of thought this would
be funny. Biotreker didn't like it too much. LOL Biotreker and I
were looking at maps of County Forest Land and realized there was a
big area not far from her home base. It's an interesting area with
a mixture of pine and oak, all of which is literally dotted with
ponds. You should see plenty of wildlife, as we saw rabbits,
turtles and even a porcupine. This area is a small maze of roads
and fire lanes which can be accessed from almost any direction. So,
if you would like a little help you can go to the following web
site for a map showing most of the trails.

In Winter this one will only be accessible by snowshoes or
snowmobile. Besides, the cache isn't exactly winter friendly
anyway. Enjoy your hunt...you are looking for a 30cal. ammo can. If
you have time, check out the other four nearby caches.
