Geocache Description:

[LAT] Slepnis atrodas Marupe, vieta, kur PSRS laikos bija Padomju armijas izluku dala, jeb spiegu sakaru centrale :)
Es personigi rekomendeju ieklut no otras puses, apbraucot bazes teritoriju pa meža celu. Ar parastu auto var piebraukt apmeram 250-300 m attaluma no bunkura.
Koordinatas noraditas aptuveni.

[ENG] Cache are located in Marupe – in the place where in the Soviet times was Soviet Army intelligence base, or spy communications office :) Former army base is in a medium sized area in forest, near the newly built houses. The area is surrounded by a barbed wire fence and there are a couple of abandoned buildings, empty hangars, two-storied bunker and a huge, forest-level ramp, on which once was radar unit. Currently, there isn't a lot of the equipment maintained, but there are few things to see. In the bunker and buildings are survived some furniture, lettering and guidance. Bunker are pretty clean. Territory are under the Defense Ministry supervision. By the central entrance is a gatehouse, which is still functional (check waypoint) . If you don't want to meet security guards, better look for an alternative access to the territory. I personally recommended to enter from the other side, going around the base territory along the forest path. With urban vehicle you can drive and stop aprox. 250 - 300 m away from bunker.
Coordinates are approximate. Cache are located in a two-storey bunker, hidden in one of the rooms, which once looked after the air supply. It is a medium sized plastic sandwich box containing logbook, pencil, silica-gel bag for moisture absorption and couple things for trade.
Be sure to have a flashlight and company in this trip, because for solo-hiking bunker is not very cozy.
