Bayport is a quaint historic city, located two miles south of the City of Stillwater, along the beautiful St. Croix River. Previously named South Stillwater, Bayport is known for its scenic charm and warm, small town hospitality.
The city is surrounded by spectacular river bluffs and breathtaking views, and is always bustling with year-round recreation activity. Local residents and visitors enjoy an array of outdoor activities, including swimming, boating, hiking, and biking.
The Village Green Park is located along North Third Street, adjacent to the Bayport Public Library. Considered to be a passive recreation area, the Village Green has several reading benches and shady open space for picnicking and relaxing.
In December, this park is host to the Holiday at the Village Green, a community event that celebrates the beginning of the holiday season and includes a tree lighting ceremony, bonfire, caroling, and a visit from Santa Claus.
This park is an excelent example of Christopher Alexanders- A pattern language, pattern 61.

May be part of Activity Nodes (30), Promenade (31), Work Community (41), Identifiable Neighbourhood (14).
A town needs public squares; they are the largest, most public rooms, that a town has. but when they are too large, they look and feel deserted.
Make a public square much smaller than you would first imagine; usually no more than 45 to 60 feet across, never more than 70 feet across. This applies only to its width in the short direction. In the long direction it can certainly be longer.
May contain Pedestrian Density (123), Activity Pockets (124), Positive Outdoor Space (106), Hierarchy of Open Space (114), Something roughly in the Middle (126).
