[LAT] Rauna, viena no gleznainakajam un senatnes pieminekliem bagatakajam vietam Cesu apkaime. [ENG] Rauna is one of the most scenic and with historical monuments richest place in Cesis environ.
[LAT] Arhibiskapa pilsdrupas. Grandioza celtne, kas tapusi ap 1262. gadu arhibiskapa Alberta II laika, reiz bija plašaka un vislabak nocietinata pils Rigas arhibiskapija. Arhibiskaps te ik gadu uzturejas no Mikeliem (29. septembra) lidz Svecu dienai (7. februarim). 16 gs. sakuma pils tika ieverojami paplašinata, ap pili izauga varena viduslaiku pilseta. 17. gs. beigas tika noarditi visi priekšpils torni un saglabajas vienigi pils galvenie korpusi. Esi uzmanigs pilsdrupas! [ENG] Archbishop’s castle ruins. Impressive building, which was built at about year 1262 during the archbishop Albert the Second time, once was the most wide and best fortified castle in Riga archbishopric. Every year archbishop was staying here from Mikeli (29th September) until Svecu day (Candle day, 7th February). In the beginning of 16th century castle was noticeably enlarged. Around the castle grew up mighty medieval town. In the end of 17th century all the towers of castle-front was demolished and only the main castle bodies was preserved. Be carefully in the main castle ruins!
