Geocache Description:

[ENG] Ezere is an inhabited site on the border between Latvia and Lithuania, 36 km from Saldus. It is set on land bequeathed by the last Master of the Order Gothards Ketlers to his nephew as the Order state collapsed. The Ezere Manor was extensively rebuilt in the 19th century. The Empire style farm buildings are notable for their purity of style, with triumphal arch motifs and Doric columns used expansively in their external finishing. The Ezere Landscape Park is rich with exotic plant species. The park includes a 4 m high post-like field stone called the Great Stone which, according to local legends, it took ten years to roll to Ezere.

As World War II neared its end, the act of surrender of German army units trapped in the so-called “Kurzeme cauldron” was signed in Ezere on May 8, 1945.

Before visiting cache we suggest to take your passport with you, because it's borderland and apart from Latvias presence in Schengen zone border-guards may ask you to indentify yourself. No, they are not standing on their post, they roam around. So be careful, don't run (they may count you as wanted criminal) and be kind to them. ;-)

Cache coordinates you will get, placing numbers in following formulas, calculating them and concatenating results in following order.

G = 2 * C
H = 2 * F + A
I = E
J = D + 1
K = B - A + F
L = C - 2 * F + A

N 56° G,HI E 022° J,KL

Programmers will understand better following syntax. ;-)
coords = sprintf("N 56° %d,%d%d E 022° %d,%d%d", G, H, I, J, K, L);

You can check your final coordinates on Geochecker.com.

Cache containers contains lock-lock box what isolates logbook, pencil and sharpener from moisture.
