How Geocaching Works

Please note Use of services is subject to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer.

Geocache Description:

Bucket o' Fun is a multicache on IU's campus that should provide a challenge for even the experienced cacher! Bring your geocache bag of tools and about six pairs of eyes. This cache is much better done with friends than without. We strongly suggest you do it when there is less university activity: weekends, holidays, summer. Think vertically!

The first four stages offer only coordinates and are either secured to their hiding places or intended to be placed specifically, so please take appropriate measures when recovering and replacing. The final cache is a five gallon bucket, your reward for making it through all the stages. Please rehide the final cache carefully.

If you would like a hint for any of the stages feel free to email me. Or, Simply log a note here on the cache page, send us an email about where you're stuck, and we'll send help your way. Here's some clues to start you towards your fun:

Stage 1

Stage 2
Take a walk.

Stage 3

Stage 4
Depending on where you stand, it could be at your feet or eye level.

Stage 5
Not too many places to hide this one.

That's all the help you get, so unpack those Secret Squirrel muggle-avoidance skills and have a Bucket o' Fun!

Parking is free in the IU parking garages all day Saturday and Sunday.
During the week, the price of the garage is $2/hour. But if you make an attempt during a weekday after 5pm, park on Union Street in the "2 hour only between 9-5" spots since those would be free in the evenings.

Bucket o 'Fun was originally hidden by the Hoppy Family in September of 2007. When they were ready to pass it on, Mickey4Jes adopted it. DJ, MCA, ErWenn, Road and probably others (Tell me and I'll add your name!) helped maintain the cache as well. In the summer of 2014, Lucky Chavez, Team Jackson, MCA, H.T., and I walked through the stages and cleaned the final. This cache has been well loved! I hope you like it as much as Bloomington geocachers do!
