MN.Fruitcake: As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact me (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, I'll be happy to unarchive it.

***NOTE: If you have any questions, do not reply to the archive note email. Click on the link to go to the cache page and click on my name in the archive log at the bottom of the page. You can then send me an email regarding the cache. Please send me a link to the cache in question so I will know which cache it is regarding. I will not see notes posted to this cache page once it is archived.

Thanks for your understanding,

MN.Fruitcake

Geocache Description:

This cache is located in Steamboat park in Afton, MN. The City of Afton is located approximately fifteen miles east of Downtown Saint Paul. Afton is nearly 25.6 square miles in size and contains a variety of diversified land uses including agricultural, rural residential and commercial uses- the latter primarily located in the Historic Village. Over 2800 residents enjoy Afton's unique, rural character. Bring your own pen.

The Saint Croix River is the City of Afton's eastern border. During the summer months, you can see river boats all along this river. The Saint Croix National Scenic Riverway is located in eastern Minnesota and northwestern Wisconsin. It protects 252 miles (405 kilometers) of river, including the St. Croix River (on the Wisconsin/Minnesota border), and the Namekagon River (in Wisconsin). The St. Croix National Scenic Riverway is just east of this location. It is one of the original eight rivers designated as a wild or scenic river, largely as a result of legislation by Senator Walter Mondale (MN) and more so by Senator Gaylord Nelson (WI). The largest scenic riverway east of the Mississippi River, it lies within parts of eight counties in Wisconsin: Bayfield, Burnett, Douglas, Pierce, Polk, St. Croix, Sawyer, and Washburn; and three in Minnesota: Chisago, Pine, and Washington.

Bring your own pen. Replace cache as found.
