The Final Stage of the Joy to the World Series.
The cache is not located at the posted coordinates. To obtain the final coordinates you must complete the other four caches as part of this series.
On one of the annual camping trips to Bar Harbor, Barefoot, LisaS, and PJPreb decided to go explore the Northeast Creek located off Route 3 as you enter Mount Desert Island. While paddling in the creek and hearing the croak of the frogs, we broke into the lyrics of the song Joy to the World and quickly decided a cache needed to be placed in this area. The idea for the Joy to the World series then quickly went into the planning stages.
There are four caches in this series of caches which contain the coordinates you will need to find the final cache - a well stocked ammo box. The caches you will need to find each require paddling to their locations. There are two caches located in Northeast Creek on the southwest side of Route 3 which have a convenient launch location. It is recommended that these two caches be completed first. The other two caches are located in the Narrows on two islands called the Twinnies which can be accessed from various locations. We recommend paddling from Hadley's Point, and obtaining the information from these two caches last. As with any kayak accessible cache, we urge you to use caution and beware of the weather conditions, tide stages, and your paddling abilities.
To obtain the final coordinates for this cache you will need to fill in the following variables:
N 44 26.CAB
W 068 19.DEF
The "Joy to the Fishes" cache contains the information for variables A and B.
The "Deep Blue Sea" cache contains the information for variable C.
"Jeremiah Was a Bullfrog" is a multi cache with stage 1 being termed the "King of the World". At this stage you will find variable D. The final stage of "Jeremiah Was a Bullfrog" has information for variable F.
Finally, "Mighty Fine Wine" has the information for variable E.
Obtaining all of the variables for the final location of the Joy to the World cache will require about 8 miles of paddling.
Enjoy the scenery, wildlife, and hum along to the song as you paddle.
