Cache is accessible by fourwheel drive only because there are two steep loose dirt hills. A stock fourwheel drive vehicle is fine.
Cache can be found two ways. First by kayak or second by walking a trail off the main road in by the Nash's Lake Cache by Aefuss and walking across the water. If walking across the water be sure to wear Teva's or Keen Sandles. I'm 5'8" and got hip high in some spots. Most of the bottom is rock covered but there are some "soft" spots. Cache was placed by me walking to it from "the main land".
If wanted off-road can be avoided by using the boat launch on Shattuck Rd, from Rt 1. For the off-road adventure use Rt. 1 and look for Hardscrabble Rd. Road is not plowed in the winter, so this cache is not winter accessible unless you want to attempt with a snowmobile. Be careful on the "off-road" part as there are ATV's on the trails, so be aware of traffic please.
Be sure to check out the dam that was built, see some loons (saw 3 when placing cache), and be sure to visit Aefuss' only cache, Nash's Lake Dam- GCK56W. Enjoy!
Cache container is a ammo container. Replaced the lock-n-lock with an ammo June 27th, 2010. Original contents are a rubber rat, Eebee pathtag, Aefuss pathtag, eartha marble, glass heart, two keychains, logbook, and a pen.
