Discover the exquisite beauty of the Door County Peninsula and Washington Island. With over 300 miles of scenic shoreline dotted with bustling harbors, quiet coves and the almost 40 islands that surround the peninsula, Door County offers a wealth of water-based recreation. Sandy beaches, boating, fishing, charters or a unique car ferry ride to Washington Island are just a few ways to enjoy the sparkling waters of Green Bay and Lake Michigan.
Five state parks, ten lighthouses and more than a dozen county parks offer fantastic hiking, biking and sightseeing opportunities for the entire family. Breathtaking landscapes of rural vistas and limestone bluffs further enhance your experience of the county.
Small wonder Door County was named one of the top ten vacation destinations in North America by Money Magazine.
To log this cache you must go to the posted coordinates (waypoint #1) and find a magnetic matchstick container, attached to the backside of the white flagpole, near ground level. This can be reached without stepping from the blacktop. Inside the container you will find instructions on what you must do next. You must follow these very easy instructions exactly or you will not be able to log your smiley. Final is less than 30 feet away. This was made as Wheelchair/handicap accessible and as easy to find and log as possible. Muggles will be present at times, so take care at wp #1. At the final there will be no need to hide what you are doing. You'll see what I mean when you get there. Please return ammo can to original location before leaving.
Permission for cache placement given by manager Bob Kaczmarowski. Thanks also to Jon Jarosh and all the pretty ladies for their assistance.
This is a travelbug hotel and geocoin depository. I would appreciate a 1 for 1 trade, but I also understand that TBs and coins are meant to travel. So use your own discretion. Hopefully this never goes totally empty.
