This 14-acre park, located on Horseshoe Bay, features 1,600 feet of sand beach, boat launching facilities, dock, picnic area, volleyball court and playground area. Cache will be an easy find just 15 feet from parking.
Standing at the coordinates, look to the northeast and then to the southwest. Do you notice any differences? Old growth hardwoods to one side and a totally different landscape to the other. This was caused when a tornado which started as a waterspout over Green Bay, came ashore, and ripped through Frank E. Murphy County Park in 1998. Trees were uprooted near the boat launch before the tornado leapt the escarpment and touched down again near Highway 42. Many homes and businesses were damaged, but no one was injured.
