L'abbaye de Morimond, fondée en 1115, est la quatrième fille de Citeaux, après La Ferté, Pontigny et Clairvaux. Elle etait mère de 276 autres abbayes dans l'occident et tenait un rôle de première importance dans l’organisation de l’Ordre de Cîteaux.
Elle fut totalement détruite en 1791 lors de la révolution française. aujourd'hui, il ne reste qu'un pan du mur de l'Eglise (XIIème) et la chapelle Sainte-Ursule (XVème).
D'avril à Octobre, les lacs de l'abbaye sont ouverts au public, et permette une agréable balade.

ENGLISH VERSION
The Morimond Abbey, founded in 1115, is the fourth daughter abbeys of Citeaux Abbey, after La Ferté, Pontigny and Clairvaux. It was the mother of 276 other abbeys in the Occident and was of primary importance in the spread of the Cistercian Order.
The Abbey was totally destroyed in 1791 during the French Revolution. Today, only a fragment of a wall of the church (12th century) and the Sainte-Ursule Chapel (15th century) are still standing.
From April to October, the lakes of the abbey are open to the public and offer a nice walk.
