Geocache Description:

The RudeRat Crew (Willis & Linda)

Made their 1,000th find: “Earth Day 2009 -- A Social Event” on April 22, 2009.

The RudeRat Crew

Congratulations to Willis & Linda on the overdue recognition of their achieving 1,000 finds!

(Please include reminiscences of caching adventures with Willis & Linda, or mention your favorite RudeRat hide in your log entry.)

The RudeRat crew are relatively new cachers, having started in the spring of 2008, but they have accomplished a lot in a year an a half. Willis & Linda started with a bang by finding ALL the caches in the State Park History Challenge caches in 2008. They have went on to become some of the premier hiders in the state, with two MNGCA Cache of the Month Awards. One of these: Elmer Bunyan is the first Wherigo cache in Minnesota. If you are not sure what a 3 - 4 difficulty cache really looks like they have several examples that set the standard. In addition to being very creative hiders Willis & Linda are a couple of the best FTF hounds in the Southwest metro, rarely missing first on a new hide close to their home. They are almost always in attendance at WNC and have served as volunteers for the MNGCA.

This cache is part of a series of silver ammo cans placed in the western part of Carver Park Reserve near Victoria, MN. These caches honor the achievement of eight cachers, who have all found 1,000+ caches and have been important members of the caching community for sometime. This cache has been registered and approved by the Three Rivers Park District. Please follow Carver Park Reserve rules and observe park hours (5am to 10pm).

Take Victoria Dr. (County Rd. 11) from Hwy 5 or Hwy 7 and turn west on Grimm Rd. Park at either the Horse Trail or Springfield Group Camp parking lot. [LINK TO MAP] This cache is easily accessible from the trail system and can be found on foot or by bicycle. The cache is also near the horse trail, which is used for cross country skiing in the winter. This cache should be findable in all seasons. A nice complement of swag has been placed with the original contents of the container. Kids and dogs are always welcome. Please re-hide the cache well, so it doesn’t get muggled.

Most important have fun and enjoy Carver Park Reserve!
