L'église Saint-Pierre

Une micro-cache au milieu d’un petit village au riche passé….

I L’église Saint-Pierre

Cette église gothique fut construite au XIVe siècle et consacrée par l’évêque de Rieux en 1390. Elle fut aménagée au XVe siècle, fortifiée au XVIe siècle, dans le contexte local des guerres de Religion, puis restaurée au Xxe siècle.
Vous pourrez voir une statue mutilée de Saint Martin partageant son manteau, datant du XIVe siècle.
Un local, aménagé sous les niches des cloches, a servi de prison aux XVIIIe et XIXe siècles.

II La Maison Fourtané. (XIVe siècle)

Cette maison a successivement abrité une auberge, puis l’officine d’un barbier-coiffeur. Elle bordait un cimetière, déplacé à la fin du XIXe siècle : vous verrez une plaque « cimetière du dedans – 1390-1832 », ainsi qu’une croix devant la croix du Christ placée à côté de l’église portant l'inscription : « cimetière du dehors – 1390-1832 »

III La maison curiale. (XVe siècle)

Ce presbytère était relié à la crypte de l’église par un souterrain, construit pendant la campagne de fortifications entreprise dans le contexte des guerres de Religion.
Toute cette partie de l’ Arize et ses environs gardent le souvenir marquant du passage des huguenots, forts dans la région du soutien de la maison de Foix.

A micro-cache in the middle of a small village with a rich past ....

I Saint Pierre’s church.

This Gothic church was built in the fourteenth century and consecrated by the Bishop of Rieux in 1390. It was developed in the fifteenth century, fortified in the sixteenth century, in the context of local religious wars, then restored in the twentieth century.
You will see a mutilated statue of St. Martin dividing his cloak, dating from the fourteenth century.
A place, located under the bell niches, served as a prison in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries.

II Fourtané House. (Fourteenth century)

This house has successively housed an inn, then the pharmacy of a barber-hairstylist. It bordered a cemetery, moved in the late nineteenth century, you will see a plaque “cimetière du dedans - 1390-1832” as well as a cross in front of the cross of Christ placed beside the church with the inscription: “cimetière du dehors - 1390-1832”.

III The parsonage. (Fifteenth century)

The parsonage was connected to the crypt of the church by a tunnel built during the campaign of fortifications undertaken in the context of religious wars.
All that part of the Arize and its surroundings have strong memories of the passage of the Huguenots, highly supported in the region by the house of Foix.
