CZ: Novopacky tunel

Celková delka trati cislo 040 mezi Chlumcem nad Cidlinou a Trutnovem je 102km. Na teto vzdalenosti je jen jedno misto, ktere nebylo mozne prekonat jinym zpusobem nez prorazenim tunelu, a to hreben mezi obci Valdov a nadrazim v Nove Pace. K teto, v nasem okoli jedinecne, stavbe Vas privede tato kes.


Cela trat byla vystavena spolecnosti Rakouske severozapadni drahy (ÖNWB = Österreichische Nordwest Bahn) a stavba probihala ve dvou casovych usecich. 21. prosince 1870 byly zprovozneny dve casti trate, a to z Chlumce n.C. do Ostromere a z Trutnova do Kuncic nad Labem. O pul roku pozdeji 1. cervna 1871 byl zprovoznen i stavebne nárocnejsi usek z Ostromere pres Starou Paku do Kuncic n.L., ktery oba úseky propojil do souvisleho provozniho celku.
Puvodne trat zacinala uz ve Velkem Oseku, proto i kilometraz podel trati je tak dodnes znacena a v Chlumci nyni zaciná 22 kilometrem. Z Chlumce vede trat pomerne rovinatym zemedelskym krajem k Novemu Bydzovu, Smidarum a do Ostromere. V Ostromeri se krizi s trati 041 z Hradce Kralove do Jicina a Turnova.
Z Ostromere vchazi trat do hlubokeho udoli ricky Javorky, kde protina Horicky chlum a pak jiz miri podkrkonosskym krajem k Laznim Belohrad. Odsud zacina tahle stoupat pres kopce a take jedinym tunelem do Nove Paky a dal do Stare Paky, velkeho zeleznicniho uzlu v regionu.
Ze Stare Paky trat pokracuje hornatym krajem do Martinic. Zde se oddeluje pripojka do horskeho mestecka Rokytnice nad Jizerou a dale do Kuncic, kde konci take trat z Vrchlabi. Odtud je to jiz pomerne kousek pres Hostinne do koncove stanice Trutnov.


Novopacky tunel je zajimavy hned nekolika svymi parametry. Severni cast je zhotovena jako prima ale jizní konec se jiz staci do oblouku vychodne, tak aby trat plynule navazovala na vhodny sklon terenu. Tim je zpusobeno, ze tunelem neni videt na druhy konec a i kdyz celková soucasna delka tunelu je "jen" 347,9 metru, zda se byt podstatne delsi. Druha zmena, ktera v tunelu nastava, je sklon trati. Po vjezdu do tunelu koleje klesají o 8‰, ale jiz asi po 50-ti metrech se sklon zvetsi na 14‰. Treti zajimavosti tunelu je to, ze kazdy jeho konec patri do povodi jine reky. Jizni cast patri do povodi Cidliny a severni cast do povodi Jizery. Severni vjezd do tunelu je take druhym nejvyssim mistem cele trati (vys je jen cast useku u Martinic).

Zde je cast popisu o vystavbe tunelu (zdroj: Monografie Novopacko, treti cast, 1929):
Stavbu provadel nemec Jung v letech 1870-71 zpusobem tou dobou obvyklym. Kdyz byl vykopán kus asi 5 m dlouhy, obkladaly se steny piskovcovymi kvadry z lomu nad Lany, kde se jiz drive trat stavela, aby se mohlo zdivo dovazeti do tunelu. Z Hermanickych studni ztratila se voda, proto byla poskozenym vyplacena nahrada. Voda z tunelu odvadena je smerem k jihu do potoka Hermanickeho, tedy do Javorky a Cidliny. Sirka u zakladu 4,3 m, pod klenutim 4,54 m, vyska 6,64 m. Kolik hmoty bylo odvezeno pri stavbe, vysvitne z techto cisel: pro vlastni tunel musilo se vylamati 13.398 m3 kamene, v zarezu severnim asi 90.000 m3 a v zarezu jiznim asi 18.000 m3, tedy vice nez 110.000 m3, coz by cinilo 607 vlaku po 20 vagonech, kdyz do vozu vejde se 10 m3.


Musite uznat, ze za dva roky to byl uctyhodny vykon, kdyz na stavbe nebyla pouzita zadna tezka technika a po odstrelu se vse nakladalo lopatami a odvazelo pomoci kolecek na pristavene povozy. Odtezeny material poslouzil na stavbu naspu v okoli tunelu, ale hlavne material ze severniho zarezu tvori plosinu pro novopacke nadrazi, kde byvala puvodne hluboka rokle.
Tunel slouzil v puvodni podobe 78 let a pote prosel rozsahlou opravou v roce 1949, kdy byl prodlouzen na obou stranách o cca 2x10m, zlepsilo se odvadeni prusakove vody a byly vystaveny nove vjezdove portaly se zachytnymi stupni proti padani kamenu. Tato prestavba je nejvice patrna zevnitr tunelu, kde jsou jednotlive casti puvodni vyzdivky cleneny do 43 cislovanach useku cca po osmi metrech. Nove useky pristaveneho tubusu maji oznaceni mimo tuto radu a to P1 a P2. Soucasne s rekonstrukci vlastniho tunelu byla i razantne odebrana zvetrala skala v severnim zarezu, ktera hrozila sesunutim. Problemy se zvetravanim skal v techto mistech si vyzadují cas od casu drobnejsi zasah. Tunel ale slouzi od teto opravy bez problemu a zda se byt, i pres svuj vek, ve vynikajici kondici.

Tolik k seznameni s tunelem a dostavame se k vlastni kesi a jejimu lustení. Na vychozich souradnicich muzete zaparkovat sve priblizovadlo. Kdyz vyjdete od parkoviste asi 50m severovychodnim smerem na hreben, muzete pri dobrych podminkach zahlednout vrcholky Krkonos, vcetne Snezky.
Z parkovaciho mista je take nejvhodnejsi vyrazit ke kesi. Jestlize si vsak obtíznost sami radi (a dobrovolne) zvysujete, muzete padit ke kesi za sipkou z libovolného smeru. Pak se ale tesim na vase logy. Pri priblizeni ke kesi se muzete dostat do sousedstvi neoplocenych soukromych pozemku. Postupujte radeji lesem, at zbytecne nedrazdime mudly.

Na tomto miste bych byl rad, abyste se vyfotili s tunelem v pozadi a fotku pripojili ke svemu logu. Podminkou je, abyste na zaberu byli videt Vy a v pozadi vjezd do tunelu. Da se to dobre vyfotit i jen s fotakem, nebo mobilem z ruky jako autoportret (vyzkousel jsem). Na odlov tedy urcite nechodte v noci a v huste mlze, protoze pak se Vam nepovede fotka s tunelem v pozadi na pamatku a take v noci je podstatne vetsi nebezpeci pohybu kolem trati. Opravdu se mi jedna hlavne o Vasi bezpecnost pri lovu.
Navíc, za horsi viditelnosti budete na fotostagi spatne hledat indicii.
Az se vyfotite, rozhlednete se dobre kolem sebe. Primo temer od pozice fotostage je za svetla dobre videt pomerne velke sestimistne cislo, ktere Vam uz pomuze najit vlastni krabicku. Neni potreba nic obracet, ani nikde satrat. Stací se opravdu dobre a pozorne rozhlednout ze spravneho mista. Mozna i kousek popojit, ale ne nikam daleko, maximalne 10m musi stacit. Zalezi jak presne vylustite a zamerite pozici fotostage.
(Jelikoz zde mnoho kaceru prepadala silena geoslepota, pridal jsem 5.3.2011 navic hint pro najiti cisla. 28.12.2016 bylo v rámci údržby číslo obnoveno do původního lesku a pro jistotu přidáno ještě jedno navíc o pár metrů vedle, takže od teď už žádná geoslepota, pouze slepota jako Brno.)

Kes bude pravdepodobne odlovitelna celorocne. Problem muze vyjimecne nastat po intenzivnejsim snezeni, ale pokud snezeni prestane, bude za par dni zase vsechno v poradku. Pokud budete presto chtit vyrazit na lov pri snehove nadilce, tak mi radeji napiste pres profil - poslu vam "snehovy hint", at muzete odlovit v pohode. Pri vetsi vrstve snehu pocítejte se zvysenim obtiznosti terenu asi o hvezdicku.

Mnoho uspechu pri lovu.


Bezpecnostní rady: Pri hledaní teto kese se budete obcas pohybovat v blizkosti koleji. V zadnem pripade nechodte po trati, ale vzdy mimo násep. Pokud bude nutne prejít pres trat na druhou stranu, udelejte to co nejrychleji a nezdrzujte se zbytecne na trati (ten fira s temi tunami zeleza za zady opravdu neuhne ani nezastavi). Jelikoz jiz nyni vlak pri vjezdu do tunelu vetsinou nehouka (jak bylo jeho povinnosti drive), neni prijizdejici vlak od Nove Paky moc slyset a navic jede s kopce, takze ani motory nehuci. Uslysite ho tak 20 vterin pred tim nez dorazi k Vam. Opacnym smerem, od Valdova, je slyset o mnoho drive, protoze objizdi velkou cast udoli pod tunelem, jede pomaleji do kopce a motory tahnou naplno, takze ho muzete zaslechnout i dve minuty predtim, nez prijede k tunelu.

ENG: Tunnel of Nova Paka


A track between Chlumec nad Cidlinou and Trutnov is 102 km long. There is just one tunnel on this track. With this building is connected this cache.

The whole track was built by Rakouske severozapadni drahy company (ÖNWB = Österreichische Nordwest Bahn). The construction was completed in two time periods. The first two parts of the track were opened on 21st December 1870 (from Chlumec to Ostromer and from Trutnov to Kuncice nad Labem). The last part which goes from Ostromer , through Stara Paka and continues to Kuncice, was opened on 1st June 1871. The track originally began in Velký Osek, therefore is an indication of a track shiffted so it starts in Chlumec on 22nd km.

The Tunnel of Nova Paka has interesting dimensions. Northern part is straight, but the southern is in a turn, so you can't see through the tunnel. The tunnel is "just" 347,9 meters long, but it seems longer. The second interesting thing is a change of a gradient. At the beginning there is just 8‰ descent, after 50 meters it is already 14‰. It's also interesting that each end of tunnel belongs to another river basin (Cidlina river and Jizera river).Northern end of the tunnel is the highest point of the whole track. The width of an original tunnel is 4,3 m at the ground and 4,45 under the vault.

The tunnel was used wihthout changes for 75 years. In 1949 there was a huge reconstruction – it was extended of 10 meters from both sides. Inside the tunnel you can see separation of the building into original 43 numbered eight-meters long sections. After the reconstruction there were added another two sections, which are marked as P1 and P2. The tunnel is used without changes since 1949 and it seems to be in a good condition.

About the cache:
You can park your car on coordinates given in the listing.
If you leave a parking place in north-eastern direction, after 50 meters you'll reach a hill. From this place you can see peaks of Giant Mountain including Snowhill (the highest peak). During you journey for a cache, you can get close to some private estates. It's better to walk through a forest, so you avoid a disturbance of "muggles".

This coordinates won't lead you to the cache, but they lead you to the place from which you can see a portal of the tunnel.
I would be very glad if you take a picture of yourself with the tunnel in a backround and put this photo on your log. Do it after one condition - on the photo I have to see you and the beginning of the tunnel. This condition is for your safety. Don't look for this cache at night or in a fog. It's also hard to find a clue on this fotostage in bad visibility conditions.
From your postion on the fotostage you can see quite big six-position number which helps you to find the cache. It isn't necessary to move with something, all you need it to carefully look around from the proper place. You can walk a little bit but 20 m is maximum. It depends on how precisely you step into coordinates of the fotostage. Particular ciphers from this number mark as GHIJKL and again put into this pattern:

It is possible to look for this cache throught the whole year. Maybe a bigger snow cover could be a problem. There are thirty memory cards for first thirty finders.
