[ENG] Current Zemitanu station was originally known as The Tsar Alexander ( "Aleksandra varti", translating literally - "Alexander Gates"). Zemitana station name has been given in the first independent Latvia time on the occasion of Latvian Northarmy chief Jorgis Zemitans (1873 to 1928). In Soviet times (time when bridge is built) the railway station was named after Latvian organizer of the partisan movement Otomara Oškalna (1904-1944) title. During this time this Zemitanu Bridge (then Oškalna bridge) is built. In 90-ties when Latvia regained independence station regained J. Zemitana name and with that bridge too got this name.
