Geocache Description:

A virtual cache with a webcam twist. Also, one of the best views of the Chicago Skyline you'll ever see.

This is a virtual cache with an interactive webcam. To properly log this cache, you will need a cell phone (or at least a local payphone) & a partner you can call that will be sitting at a computer with the Internet. The person at the computer should practice their job ahead of time to make sure that the hunter is not standing outside for hours on end.

Photographer's Job

Go to TrueLook's® Chicago View and use the view finder panorama at bottom of screen to zoom in on certain features (camera's default direction looks NW). This is a live feed camera taking pictures from the area around the cache site. You can drag squares on the photo to zoom in or drag squares on the panorama at the bottom of the screen. You can also click anywhere in the picture to re-center it. Once you click or drag the square the camera updates to a new live shot.

When you receive the phone call from the hunter (see Hunter's Job below), pan around using description given by cache hunter to find their location. Use Maximum Zoom so as not to give away too much of the location and snap a picture of them. To save picture, click on the "Save This Picture" icon and then right click on the picture to "Save Image As." File should only be 28.2K, so there will be no problem saving it as an attachment to your log.

Hunter's Job

When get to the site, look up at the top of the dome. There's your camera. Contact your photographer on the phone (there payphones near the Pretzel Stand). Please move some distance away from the virtual cache site so as to not give away the answer to the question.

Here's my shot taken the day this cache was implemented:

Virtual Cache Clue

Find the month and the year that man entered the cosmos.

Verification

Once you have the answer to the clue, download the Online Verification. This file is a Winzip compression file with a password protection. The password is the two digit month and four digit year (example: February 1967 would be 021967). Once you open the winzip file, the verification is a JPG image file called "verify.jpg".

Of course, post your picture with the log entry.
Unfortunately, the camera in use for this cache is not owned or operated by the cache owner. It's just an interactive webcam that I knew about and put to good use. If you find that the camera is inoperable for a great length of time (24 hours+), let me know and I'll contact TruLook® and see if I can get it back up.
Still a little confused? Here's the text of an E-mail Conversation I had with another cacher explaining the workings of this cache in greater detail.
