Although you can come from the north, it’s best to park at N44 13.463 W090 41.876 – take note of some private posted land to the east of these coordinates.
Some of my most favorite memories are of my grandfather and his stories he would tell. We would sit around him in the evenings outside his home, just a half mile south of this cache. On occasion his stories would include a location he would visit where he would collect his thoughts and seek direction on matters that concerned him. From this vantage point, he watched the steam locamotives pass by as a youth, the introduction of the car to this area as a young man, the coming of the highway and then later on the interstate system. He spoke of seeing the first planes to cross the sky here also, and now to look back at these stories, I can only imagine his curiosity and wonderment at some of the things he saw from here. Along with these stories, he would mention of the sunrises and sunsets, taking special note of where they would rise at certain times of year... Maybe if you happen upon this cache at sunrise or sunset, perhaps you'll see something here as special and unique as he did... We would like to thank James Zahasky, JCF Administrator for giving us permission to place Geo Caches on Jackson County Forest Property.
