Church in Msecke Zehrovice

First written mention of Msecke Zehrovice dates from 1045 when Bretislaus I, Duke of Bohemia, donated half of the village to monastery in Brevnov (nowadays a suburb of Prague). St. Martin church (sometimes also called a chapel) is a small and simple rectangular edifice with one nave and flat ceiling. It was commissioned by local inhabitants in 1774 and remains a property of the municipality of Msecke Zehrovice. Roman-Catholic parish of Nove Straseci handles religious matters but services are held only irregularly. The interior contains original pulpit and altar from late 18th century while church bell from the same period fell victim to metal requests during World War II and has not been replaced yet.

Beware of the muggles as the church is located in middle of the village. When visiting the site, pay also attention to a memorial of World War I next to the church. To the north of the village there is a noteworthy beech tree, one of oldest in Bohemia, with a cache of its own (Dzbansky buk).
