Geocache Description:

One of a series of 6 caches in Edenvale Park.

The “Lord of the Rings” saga by J.R.R. Tolkien mentions five wizards. This series of caches is in honor of each of those wizards. They are the Gandalf the Grey, Radagast the Brown Wizard, Saruman the White Wizard, Alatar the Blue Wizard, and Pallando the Blue Wizard. To get to the One-Ring, you must visit each of the five wizards.

This cache is for Alatar, one of the Blue Wizards. Alatar was one of the five Wizards who came to the northwest of Middle-earth in the Third Age.

Alatar was one of the original three Wizards selected by the Valar for the journey from Valinor to Middle-earth (the other two being Saruman and Gandalf).

Alatar and Pallando arrived in Middle-earth dressed in sea blue. For this reason, they were together given the name Ithryn Luin, the "Blue Wizards". With Saruman, they journeyed into the far east of Middle-earth, but while Saruman returned to the west, Alatar and Pallando did not. Of their fate, we know almost nothing.

Take note of the number in the container lid. This will assist you with the final cache in the series “The One Ring.”

All of the caches in this series have been approved by the City of Eden Prairie. Please obey all park rules (Hours are 6 AM to 10 PM daily). The trails are not cleared during the winter months. Deer are frequently seen in this park and their trails can be very useful. Office attire not recommended.
