Geocache Description:

The story behind the BOILING HOT CACHE

This was Cache number 13 of the day. I do not know if it was the fact that this cache was # 13 for the day or what but what a time we had getting to it at 1st of all we were not even headed to this cache we were headed to Honey Bee cache to which we came in to the wrong way and after a .10m hike and plunge down to a small creek we discovered we still had 80 or 90 feet to get to GZ with no way to cross the creek we started back up the hill and proceeded to hike the .10m back all while hearing what we believe was a bear grunting and got back in the car and drove all the way back around the WMA and found another road/trail that seemed to be headed to Honey bee cache. Did I mention we were in a Saturn SL. front wheel drive is almost as good as 4X4 the sand is thick and soft on some of the roads but we trudged on and made it to a spot that we thought was about .20m from Honey Bee but road did not look good for the little Saturn. But Mrs. Hemi said I believe the Saturn can get around on the left side. So I got out and held a large pine tree branch out of our way and Mrs. Hemi drove the Saturn under the branch so we started up the road /trail a short way's until we came upon a gully that a Jeep would have problems with. So with no way to turn around we started to back out of this road that we were on until we spotted a spot to back into and turn around. And that is when the day really got exciting because for some unknown reason the little Saturn decided it had had enough and started spewing Antifreeze from under the hood. We managed to get back around to a good parking area and stopped on solid ground to assess our situation at first look under the hood it did not look good so we decided to let the little car rest, a call for help was put into TR1Hemi to prepare for a possible rescue. So while we pondered our situation once more I decided to relive some pressure from the radiator cap you know the one that say's dot not remove when hot. Well I am highly trained Retired Air force Aircraft Mechanic I know what I am doing. NOT! Yelp! I got a 1st degree burn to my arm lost the Cap and ruined my Miami Dolphin T-shirt when hot boiling water shot 20' in the air. So we proclaimed the lost cap a new cache and struck out to find it. It was retrieved in short order. Than we used the gallon of drinking we had and poured it into the receptacle and the cap reinstalled and the car was given a rest. I guess we just pushed the little car to hard. So what did we do next, yelp! checked our GPS'r and found a cache close by us so we set out for it and let Geo-Car cool off. After a short .20m hike the cache was found that is when I discovered my bread crumbs were turned off. Yelp lost with a GPS in our hand. But thank God I was an Eagle Scout and I just sniffed the wind got a bearing on the sun and off we went found the trail and got back to the car. Checked for leaks found none and off to the house he went. THE END TFTC SL TNLN So we placed this cache near where the boiling radiator blew it's cap. HAVE FUN and HAPPY CACHING
