Geocache Description:

Come to the Robert O Cook Memorial Arboretum for our first Pancake meet and greet. This will be your chance to put faces to the names you have been reading about from the Dane and Rock counties area.
Bring your geocoins to trade icons. I will have mine and will give my scouting ones to all who ask for them.

This event will run from 8:00am to 10:30am or untill we run out of Pancake batter. There will also be butter, syrup, juice and coffee. You could bring a dish to pass if you wish.
We will be meeting inside the Janesville Outdoor Lab building. Hopefully we can get the fireplace stoked up. The building is heated and has plenty of room.

This event will a combined meet and greet and geocaching 101 for Pack 53 scouts. There will be a short beginners class for the scouts, then off they go to find 6 temp caches for their chance to win prizes.

I ask that a few experienced cachers (5-6) volunteer to help with a group of 4-6 scouts find the caches. Those that do will be rewarded with a special prize. Please indicate in your attend log if your willing to help and if your bringing anything.

About the Arboretum
This 155 acre park is located two miles northwest of Janesville. It was originally produced from glacial till. The highest elevation is 986 feet above sea level.
Large granite erratics are in evidence throughout the woods. There is a large deep gully that runs diagonally through the woods and another less deep one that runs along the western edge. Both serve as part of the drainage pattern of a large area of land to the east, south and west.
There are three long trails in the arboretum with a total length of 4 1/2 to 5 miles. The trails are divided into seven major and eight minor ones. They are broken down to various lengths from .3 miles to 1.7 miles.
There is also a vintage log cabin that was moved to this property. See GC21VDY for more information.
