Geocache Description:

[LV]Dotajās koordinātēs jūs sagaidīs QR kods, tas jūs aizvedīs pareizā virzienā...

[ENG]At given coordinates you will found QR code,it shows you the right direction...

[LV]: No pilsētas centra, dodoties lejup, nevar ne paiet, ne arī pabraukt garām Vecajai kapsētai. Nonākot šajā teritorijā, vienkāršs, ne īpaši izlepis eiropietis un arī Liepājas centra iedzīvotājs nonāk pasaulē, kurā jūtas atsviests vismaz uz iepriekšējo gadsimtu. Vecie Kaiju ielas kapi ir senākā pilsētas kapsēta. Kā liecina vēstures avoti, apbedījumi tajos veikti jau 16.gadsimtā, kad Liepājai vēl nebija piešķirts pilsētas nosaukums. Taču daži vēstures avoti min iespējamību, ka apbedīšana tur varētu būt notikusi jau 13.gadsimtā, jo šajā vietā varētu būt bijusi sena apmetne. Interesanta ir Vecās kapsētas rašanās vesture. Pirmie apbedījumi veikti vecajā Katoļu kapsētā, bet vēlāk Vecās kapsētas teritorijā, pašā kanāla malā. Un tikai pēc tam veidots kapu paaugstinājums. Tas tapis no kuģiem izkrautām balasta smiltīm.

[ENG]: Going down from city center along the Kaiju street you will found the old cemetery. Once in this area, simple, not particularly fastidious Europeans or Liepaja Center resident come into a world where they feel at least throw the past century. Kaiju street Cemetery is the oldest city cemetery. As demonstrated by historical sources burials were performed in the 16th century, when Liepaja city had not yet given name. But some historical sources mentioned the possibility of interment there may have been already in 13th century, because in this place might have been an ancient settlement. This is shown by documents recorded in 16th. The old cemetery have an interesting history of the emergence. The first burials made in the old Catholic cemetery, but later at the old cemetery area along the city port side. And only then built tombs of the ships unloaded ballast sand. By the way, the highest hill of this cemetery is also the highest place in town - It is 12 meters above sea level.

[LV]: Ludzu izturieties ar cienu pret teritoriju, kura atrodaties! Slēpnis šeit atrodas, lai apskatītu pilsētu no cita skatu punkta.
