The cache is a 35 mm film container; guarded by Captain and Brak ‘n Jan. Close by is the launching area for a popular paragliding site.
This is the fifth in the Velo series. These are all circular trips or routes in the Rustenburg region. Designed to be done by mountain bike but can be easily reached in an average salon car; they are all roadside caches. (Look out for Blokkloof, Horses & Angels, Buffelshoek and Donkerhoek in the Velo series)
Velo 5 has parking at the Safari Spar shopping centre
This ride is best done early on a Sunday morning when the road traffic is lighter and less dangerous. Ride off-road if the traffic becomes too heavy. You need to find Kremetart Avenue and follow this to Watsonia Avenue; here a left turn takes you under the N4 toll road to the Rustenburg Kloof and a right turn leads to your next right turn at

Another right takes you back under the N4 and a left at
Which leads you to an open farm gate at:
Here you follow the sandy jeep track through beautiful grassland with marvellous specimens of Birkea Africana.
The farm track you then follow roughly northwards to the turn off to Eagles Nest and At se Gat where you will receive a warm and friendly greeting from Captain and Brak ’n Jan
Return by mountain bike just over 2 hours
By car: The easiest route is the R24 north out of Rustenburg, and left at
Follow the signs to Eagles Nest and At se Gat on the gravel road to the cache.
By car about 40 minutes.
