GeocacheAlaska!: It's time to archive this event to avoid confusion with the upcoming EarthCaching FUNdamentals Event on April 15.

A pdf copy of the evening's presentation and handouts may be downloaded from here. Many thanks to all who attended, asked good questions, and wrestled the IT issues into submission!

Geocache Description:

Meet fellow cachers and learn about geocaching FUNdamentals from experienced cachers on Tuesday, March 23, beginning at 7:00 p.m., at the BP Energy Center, 900 E. Benson Blvd. (click for map).

Please bring your favorite nonalcoholic beverage and dessert to share with your fellow cachers.

Participate in this first of a kind Alaskan geocaching educational event!  The event will be hosted in Anchorage and transmitted to remote locations in Homer, Wasilla and Soldotna via WebEx.  Place a watch on this event page to stay appraised of the final details.  Note: you must attend at one of the four locations to log your attendance as Groundspeak defines an Event as a physical gathering of two or more cachers.

Ladybug Kids will present Geocaching FUNdamentals in a fast-paced PowerPoint presentation.  Course content will not exceed thirty minutes with time at the end for questions and answers.  The presentation will cover:

 1. What is "adequate permission" for placing a cache?
 2. Logging your cache experience (it's not always Found It! or Didn't Find It!)
 3. Suggested log content
 4. Ever wonder what FTFACH means (and other acronyms)?
 5. The search: Keep muggles at bay and maintain the hide integrity
 6. Where to go for more information
