Mountain Lion Info
Size – Mountain Lions weigh about 140 to 180 pounds (lbs).
Range (where they live) – Mountain Lions live in Canada,
United States, Mexico and much of South America.
Food (diet) – Mountain Lions mostly live on deer but also
will take mountain goats, wild sheep, elk, and moose. They also
take raccoons, rabbits, coyotes, and small rodents like mice.
Population (how many are there?) – Some people
guess there are more than 50,000.
Life span (how long do they live?) – Mountain Lions live about 10 to 12 years.
Other information – Mountain Lions are often called Cougars, Puma or Panther.
Mountain Lions cannot roar but they can make a
lot of different sounds to communicate with others.
