couple mile roundtrip in the foothills of the Talkeetnas
Park at the snomachine ski trail off of sunvalley road off of palmer fishhook. Take the ski trail to the big swamp and locate a trail going uphill near the swamp entrance well packed by snomachines. If youre not on a trail you should be! Follow it up to a bench and find this cache under a nice big evergreen. Bring a camera for the beautiful panorama that stretches out below. Easy to find and fun to get to. Best done in winter on skis or walking but you could snomachine to it as well. Be sure to be at this cache at 6 to 630 pm and you will see the sun set on the chugach and also witness several hundred ravens on their commute home to their nests. They make their living during the day in the valley and then return home every night to the their nests in the foothills of the Talkeetnas. Very interesting to hear their cackly vocalizations and the whiff whiff whiff of their wings cutting through the crisp clean air. Clear plastic cache, Log and Pencil.
