Geocache Description:

Love is the name given to the range of almost unexplainable feelings of affection that one has for someone or something that inspires them to action.

Emotion: Love
Color: Violet
Notable members: Carol Ferris, Queen Aga'po Fatality, Wonder Woman.
Base of operations: Zamaron (formerly Maltus)

The Zamarons, the females of the Maltusian race (Oans being the males), created the Star Sapphires to spread love throughout the Universe. The Star Sapphire Central Battery was found by the Zamarons when they first arrived at their new homeworld. The battery is powered by the eternal love of two lovers, who's corpses are encased within the sapphire crystal. The two lovers are Khufu and Chay-ara, the original spirits who are reincarnated as Hawkman and Hawkgirl.

The Star Sapphires do not just put on a ring and become members. They are encased within a "conversion crystal" as the power of love infuses their bodies. This process takes longer if the recruit is a member of another lantern corp, as the sapphire light slowly must replace their previous energy. Once converted, Star Sapphires are given a pointy, star-shaped gem, which can even bring back the recently dead via the power of a loved one's heart. So grab a power gem, spread the love, and remember... "Love conquers all!" WELCOME TO THE STAR SAPPHIRES!!

The living embodiment of the power of love is called The Predator, a male entity that attempts to possess and take control of beings.

The Star Sapphire Oath:

"For hearts long lost and full of fright,
For those alone in blackest night,
Accept our ring and join our fight,
Love conquers all-- With violet light!"

You are overlooking the Hell Gate, a waterway named for two translations of it's name (which can also describe love): 1) "Hell's Gate" for it's hazardous nature, and 2) "bright passage" for the excellent vista.

NOTE: There is a Star Sapphire ring with the logbook, for the FTF. Please post a pic with your ring!

As mentioned in a few logs, this is a weird/difficult spot. I'm bumping the difficulty level up a half notch to compensate. Please be careful. Don't jump any fences. Please beware, and be wary, of muggles (and whoever else is nearby). And please rehide well. Feel the love!

Congrats to langeNU on the FTF!

NOTICE: The Wards Island Footbridge should be open as construction is scheduled to have finished (on 6/24).
