Geocache Description:

Švenčiausios Mergelės Marijos vardo medinė bažnyčia pastatyta 1868 m. liaudies architektūros styliumi. Pirmąją medinę Romos katalikų bažnyčią 1670 m. pastatė Plokščių įkurėjas ir tuometinis savininkas Jeronimas Kiršenšteinas. Bažnyčiai sudegus Benedikto Karpio rūpesčiu 1784 m. pastatoma nauja. Dabartinė bažnyčia pastatyta 1868 m. kunigo Tomo Jankausko pastangomis, remiant grafui B.Tiškevičiui ir parapijiečiams.
