Alp43 - Capitale Douce 3 - Lycée Dominique Villars Traditional Geocache

Avec ses 45 000 habitants, Gap est la plus grande ville des Alpes du sud et représente un tiers de la population haut-alpine dont elle est la préfecture.

A 750 mètres d’altitude, Gap est entourée de montagnes :
A l’est, la colline de Puymaure puis la montagne de Charance (1903m),
le col Bayard (1246m) et son « V » indiquant le nord aux gapençais,
la colline de Saint-Mens à l’ouest.

Au bord de la Luye, Gap est au milieu d'une nature riche et préservée, au sud-ouest du parc national des Écrins, au sud-est du massif du Dévoluy, à l'ouest du lac de Serre-Ponçon et au nord de la Durance.

Ville romaine connue sous le nom de Vapincum, Gap est riche en histoire.
Mais grâce à ces nombreuses associations sportives, Gap a été élu en 2009 première ville sportive de France.
C’est la capitale douce où il fait bon vivre…

Ce petit circuit dans la vieille ville (globalement à l’intérieur des anciens remparts) va vous faire découvrir les principaux monuments.
Pour une meilleur visite, je vous conseille de faire les caches dans l'ordre en suivant les waypoints intermédiaires numérotés.

This small circuit in the old town (generally within the old ramparts) will help you to discover the main monuments.
For a best visit, i advise to to search caches in the recommended order, following additional waypoints.

Le lycée Dominique Villars est un bien plus vieux que la cathédrale et a accueilli une grande partie de la population haut-Alpine dans ses classes.
Il fût longtemps le seul Lycée de Gap jusqu'à la contruction du Lycée "de fille" A. Briand au nord de la ville.
La place de Verdun, devant Lycée et collège, fût pendant longtemps un lieu de foire (vente de bétail ou fête forraine) avant que ne soit construit le parking souterrain.

Lycée Dominique Villars is much older than the cathedral and has hosted a large part of "Hautes-Alpes" population in its classes.
It was the only Gap High School for a long time until the contruction of "girl" high school A. Briand on the north of the city.
Place de Verdun, in front of high school and college, was a place of bargain for a long time before underground parking was built.

Vous arrivez de la place Jean-Marcelin
Dirigez-vous vers le wpt06 et montez la rue de l'imprimerie.
Au wpt07 prenez la rue Jean Eymar à gauche et dirigez-vous vers la cache.

Vous cherchez une micro cache de nature peu conventionnelle...
Elle contient un logbook et un crayon.
Réfléchissez et quand la lumière jaillira, soyez discrets...
