Geocache Description:

Just off the trail at beautiful Rocky Arbor State Park

WINTER NOTE: Even though the gate is closed, you are able to hike or snowshoe in the park...but still need a park sticker. Pit toilets are usually open also. Happy Trails!!

This small, almost hidden state park is only 244 acres, but has great beauty to share with hikers and campers. A wonderful nature trail winds through a scenic sandstone gorge with tall white pine trees, picturesque sandstone bluffs, wetlands, and through a blufftop woods on its mile length. You will also enjoy many woodland shrubs and wildflowers.

Rocky Arbor State Park was established in 1932 to protect this area of sandstone ledges and formations.

The Geocache Notification Form has been submitted to Ranger Steven Rodenkirch of the Wisconsin DNR. Geocaches placed on Wisconsin Department of Natural Resource managed lands require permission by means of a notification form. Please print out a paper copy of the notification form, fill in all required information, then submit it to the land manager. The DNR Notification form and land manager information can be obtained at: (visit link)

This was the site of our first geocache back in 2002, hence the name Rocky Arbor Revisited. It is a wonderful snowshoe hike in the winter also. In summer there are mosquitoes, so be prepared.
