Geocache Description:

Released details to the group attending the King's Island CITO

from the Anoka City website:

This 18-acre community park is directly adjacent to the Mississippi River. It incorporates the natural beauty of a wooded flood plain area with passive recreation, including a 1.7 mile paved trail through a beautiful natural prairie flower area. The playground structure is in the form of a boat, reminding users of the parks connection with the Mississippi River.

Park Features:
4 Picnic shelters w/ cooking grills
Concession Stand w/ electric & water
Playground
Open playfield
Sand volleyball court
Basketball Court (1/2 court)
Horseshoe pits
River access / canoe launch
Fishing dock
1.7 mile trail loop

This park can accomodate large groups. There is ample parking (approximately 100 stalls). Each shelter accomodates up to 25 people. This is a great location for family picnics, graduation parties, and even weddings!

It also is a head of the Mississippi River Trail, that extends southward along the Mississippi river through St Paul.

Enjoy!
