The cache is placed to commemorate the 125th Anniversary of the Epworth United Methodist church. The cache is not at the listed coordinates. The coordinates given are near the location of the first church building used from 1885 to the construction of the current building. You will need to know the year the cornerstone was laid for the current building to figure out the location of the cache.
In 1885 a group from the First Swedish Methodist Church formed the Second Swedish Methodist Church. The group purchased a chapel on Thomas Street from the First Church of Christ. Additions were made to the building in 1887 and 1888. In 1917 plans were begun for a new building in a new location.
As can be deduced from the names of the institutions, the churches were founded by Swedish immigrants settling in Worcester to work at factories such as Norton Company (now St. Gobain). The First Swedish Methodist Church is now known as the Quinsigamond United Methodist Church. The Second Swedish Methodist Church is now the Epworth United Methodist Church.
The cache contains toys that are given to Sunday School students on the occasion of their birthday. .
To calcuate the location of the cache you need the year the cornerstone was laid for the current building.
The first two digits of the the year are AA and the last two digits are BB in the equation below.
