Black Hole of Arock
How Geocaching Works
Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer
Black Hole of Arock is a small plastic container starting off with "spacey" types of items. There is a large parking area on the Arock side of the road to accommodate semis as well.
Back in the 1960s and 1970s, this area had a reputation as a good place to spot UFOs. One time I spotted what I thought was a white airplane sitting in the sky rather than flying. When I got out of the pickup to look at it more closely, it was gone. I learned to be a waitress in the mid 1960s at JV Cafe in Jordon Valley and I was on the graveyard shift. One night we noticed the clock was running backwards and were calling around to see if someone had come in to play tricks on us. Shortly, a man came in and was all shaken up. He said he did not know what he had just seen out there, but was in quite a hurry to move on down the road to Boise. When we checked the clock again, it was running correctly and had the right time. You figure it out as we couldn't.
