Geocache Description:

Gårdar & Hus i Lerum is a series of cache that shows various farms, houses and buildings in Lerum that have some kind of story to tell. Since each house is occupied or frequently used, it is necessary to be stealth.

GCWR28” and “The Lerum bridges #6 , Brobacken; GCV2WA”.

Kastenhof as it looks today was built by Christopher Carlander who was a partner in Gamlestadens Fabriker and is built in National Romantic style in 1891 and the architect was Isac Gustaf Clason. Previously, there were two large wooden buildings here that were moved to other parts of society, one of them is Holland House, now located across from Lerum Gymnasium between the caches “Lerum : På undantag ? GCWR28” and “The Lerum bridges #6 , Brobacken; GCV2WA”
Carlander started a small farm here and also had a small gardening. After Carlander Kastenhof was bought by the business man and aviation pioneer Gösta Fraenkel 1919, during the first four summers he let weak and undernourished children from the First World War Germany come here. Gosta Fraenkel lived here until 1973.
