The midway fire lookout was built around 1934 from the date we found in one of the footings, destroyed in the 70's probably when most were. there is a hike /ride of a couple miles depending how how you approach this cache. there is a beautiful view of Mt Adams & the goat rocks, the picture is a spoiler of cache spot
I think the easiest way to this cache would be forest rd 23 to the 21 then follow the signs towards Keenes horse camp, you will go from black top road to a gravel road just past adams fork camp ground, you turned right at adams fork camp ground, the road will again turn back to a black top road after another turn by the snow park and a few more miles,at the last turn to the horse camp which is a right turn and is again a gravel road YOU TURN LEFT at this point follow the directions & waypoints listed below.. Thank you miss Hoppingcrow for the following, At 46° 20.362 121° 31.995 (the intersection with the Keene Horse Camp Rd.), turn left onto gravel road 2329.
Park at 46° 21.038 121° 31.424. Walk up the road until you come to the boulders.
Boulders are at 46° 21.056 121° 31.191. Walk through the first set and around the second one (it's a big one). This puts you on another old road.
Follow that road to where it crosses the PCT at 46° 21.090 121° 31.153. Do NOT turn onto the PCT. Walk straight on through and continue hiking on the old road.
To orient you properly from the PCT crossing, here is another waypoint. It is a switchback in the road at 46° 21.092 121° 30.867. Just stay on the road and follow it all the way to the top!you all the way to the old lookout
