El Peregrino 2 - Camino del Norte: Cristo del Camino

La noticia del descubrimiento de la tumba del apóstol en el año 811 D.C. se difundió en las regiones cristianas del norte de España y después en toda Europa, no obstante la mayoría de la penísula ibérica estaba ocupado por los moros (en 924 Pamplona fue destruída y en 997 hasta Santiago fue saquado). Los peregrinos fueron entonces forzado a usar un agreste y fatigoso camino siguendo la costa del norte. Por eso el Camino del Norte es el más viejo de los caminos a Santiago.
Hoy la mayoría de los peregrinos prefieren el Camino Francés, que se encuentra más al sur, paralelo al Camino del Norte.
Es el numero 2 de una serie de Geocaches en el famoso Camino de Santiago. El cache está aquí cerca de la ermita "Cristo del Camino", un lugar muy viejo de las oraciónes de los peregrinos. (Sie alguién sabe alguna mas sobre la ermita, por favor contactame!)

The Pilgrim 2 - The North Way of St. James: "Cristo del Camino"

Short after discovering the grave of St. James in the year 811 the news spread very quick all over the christian parts of Spain and all over Europe. But by the time most parts of the iberian peninsula were occupied or often attacked by the moors. (in 924 Pamplona was looded, even Santiago was vandalizes in 997) So the early pilgrims were forced to use the exhausting and rough trail along the northern coast. Therefore the "Camino del Norte" is the oldest one of the ways of St James.
Today`s pilgrims prefer the farther south parallel running "Camino Frances" which is much easier to hike.
This is the number 2 of a series of Geocaches along the famous "Camino de Santiago". The cache is situated near to the old chapel "Cristo del Camino", where since hundreds of years the pilgrims used to do their prayers.
