Ottumwa is known for its bridges. In fact Ottumwa is known as the ‘City of Bridges’. When we think of the bridges of Ottumwa, we usually think only of the bridges spanning the Des Moines River. However, there are many bridges in Ottumwa that don’t cross any body of water at all. Some of these bridges carry road traffic across other roads, rail road tracks or deep ravines.
Some bridges aren’t open to road traffic. Some are meant for pedestrians only. This bridge was erected to allow safe passage for the students who would otherwise need to cross the four lanes of the new Highway 63 twice a day so they could get to and from Washington Junior High School.
Dont park on the highway. You may park on the street that used to cross here.
It looks like muggles frequent the area so I placed the cache where I thought it was least likely to be seen. Please replace the cache exactly where it's found. It will help keep the muggles at bay.
Log only. BYOP
Congrats to TFF, HOG, Vaders and Coybirds for the FTF!
