Geocache Description:

Meet fellow cachers and learn about Puzzle FUNdamentals from experienced cachers on Thursday, September 16, at 6:45 p.m., at the Matanuska-Susitna Community College, Jalmar Kerttula Building, Room 111. The room will be available beginning at 6:30 p.m. Many thanks to NorthernRobin and NC-cachegeek for hosting this event!

Tonight's speaker is Soldotna cacher and puzzle master, SSO JOAT, who has created some of Alaska's most challenging puzzle caches and has solved other cachers' really tough puzzles as well.  SSO JOAT will provide tips on how to solve puzzle caches without giving away the solutions to existing puzzles.

  • What is an "Unknown" or "Mystery" Cache?
  • Approaching a Puzzle Cache
  • Methods of Solving Puzzles
  • Logging a Puzzle Cache
  • Hiding a Puzzle Cache
  • Online Puzzle Resources

The event will be hosted in Soldotna and transmitted to remote locations in Wasilla, Valdez, and Anchorage via WebEx.  Please place a watch on this event page to stay appraised of the final details.  If you would like to host this presentation elsewhere in Alaska, please contact Education Committee Chair, Paul Miller.

Please arrive on time so upfront administrative details can be handled and announcements made, allowing the course content to start at 7:00 p.m. Adding a "Will Attend" log to this page will assure enough hard copy handouts are printed for the event participants.

There will be a free-will offering cache container at the event to help defray the costs of hosting these FUNdamentals events.
