"Legend of Gegeodon"
Chapter 2: Battle at Hagen
Like its preceding chapter, "Gegeodon Revived", this is a story
cartridge. For those who need a story update, please refer to the
Glossary item when you start the cartridge.
This Wherigo cartridge takes place around Hagen-Stone park. No
driving is required. Most of the stages are on even grass, though
you'll have to watch out for goose evidence. Towards the end of the
cartridge, you will need to walk on a trail in the woods; be
careful of poison ivy.
To play this story, you'll need to download the cartridge from wherigo.com and
play it on a Wherigo-enabled device, be it a Garmin Colorado or
Oregon, Java-enabled phone (using OpenWig), or an Android phone (using WhereYouGo).
Hagen-Stone Park is open daily from 8AM to sunset. Please allow
yourself around an hour to complete the cartridge.
Interacting With Characters
There are times when you navigate to a zone (location) and nothing
happens automatically. Instead, look in the "You See" menu and
you'll notice a character or two. From there, you can select the
character and interact with him, her, or it.
Using Items
Occasionally, you'll need to use an item, such as the Tear of
Agatha, Corotium, or gold. To do this, select the character (from
the "You See" menu) you want to use the item on or give the item
to. You will then see a list of actions you can make with that
item--but only while you are near the character.
Patience!
During beta testing, I noticed someone would tap the screen if the
Player did not display the next dialog box in time. At one point,
the person tapped the screen just as the next dialog appeared and
told where to go. That meant the person accidentally skipped the
dialog and had no clue where to go. Please have patience with your
devices.
Saving
Saving frequently is a good thing just in case your device crashes.
If you plan to do this (the cartridge is lengthy, so I do recommend
this if you think your cartridge will crash), please test your
device's ability to save. To do this, finish all events at the
chapel, save your cartridge, close it, and try to reopen and resume
the cartridge. If the "Hitching Post" zone is still visible, you
should be able to save your cartridge. Also, please check your
device's battery power to prevent you being surprised by it running
out midway through.
