Geocache Description:

Dunmore bends has been a notorious stretch of the Princess Hwy for years. It has caught out many motorists with its lengthy traffic jams or worse, the serious accidents that plagued the twisty windy bends. On any long weekend you could sit in bumper-to-bumper traffic for over an hour just to emerge at the other end only to wonder what the "hold up" was.

In Oct 2009 the RTA opened a $130 million dollar, 5.5km bypass of these notorious bends, the motorists love it, the locals love it and I love it cause it has given me the opportunity to place a cache here.

I was tempted to call this cache "old and new" cause it depicts the old and new highways. The cache is on the old highway and once you reach GZ you'll be able to see the new highway.

Cache rules:

  • There is no longer a camera with the cache but taking your own photo and uploading it would be great. I have placed a camera at the cache, if you'd like to take a photo of yourself at GZ that would be great.
  • Mass signings will not be accepted, you must sign the log where the cache resides.

The Rats take no resposibility for any dangers you may face in attempting this cache.
