An Oxford Gathering Event Cache
Go catch: I think this has been left open for long enough, time to close this chapter of the book off.
Thanks again to all those who attended to make my first event a [red]special[/red] one.[8D]

The idea for this event came from a request by 'Alibags' to hold an
event in the Oxford area for local cachers to meet up and have a
chat. Also because she has a friend visiting from Scotland to the
area and thought it would be nice to meet up with some local
cachers.
Please come along and have a drink and chat and meet up with some
of the other local cachers to exchange stories. I chose this venue
as it appears to be difficult to reserve an area in any pubs on a
Sunday afternoon if you are not specifically eating!! This
location, should however be large enough to accomodate whoever
happens to turn up (hopefully). Please bear in mind that this is
just a bar and not a specific venue that has been reserved just for
us. It is looking like it will be very busy, but the staff are
aware of this (just not about how many to expect). There is the
possibility to expand outside into the garden area if the need
arises!
There is a separate restaurant area, but we will be meeting up in
the bar where food can also be served for those wishing to eat. For
those that know the area we will be meeting at the 'Longwall' which
is part of the Beefeater range of bars. For more information please
visit the link at the top of this page.
We plan to meet up between 2pm and 4:30pm. As we have
stated these times we feel we should stick to it and not extend
them. This does not mean that everyone will be asked to leave at
that point. Merely that the logbook will only be available for
signing during that period. I'm sure there will be people wanting
to stay on after the end time to continue talking and for those
turning up late.
We have also generously been given a couple of sought after
'Lackey' coins to donate. This will be done via a FREE
raffle, whereby each attendee (cacher account) can ask for a ticket
from either myself or Alibags (whoever has the book) ready for the
draw. This is planned to take place at around 4:15pm.
It would also be nice if everybody attending had an identity label
showing their caching name. That way we should all know who each
other is and put faces to names. As you enter, please look out for
me and I will provide you with a label if you haven't already got
one.
